Year 10/11 GCSE Art

I chose a theme of Architecture and in particular the finer stonework and detail within the buildings, I then travelled to different ruins and churches for inspiration and took photos which would then develop my work. Some of the media used here was inks and bleach on the bottom left piece, water colours, sgraffito and also intaglios which i found gave the detail i wanted by using a scratching method in the top left pieces.   

I then developed these intaglios further by focusing on the stone work and gargoyles and printed on a range of surfaces such as books and map sections. I then cut sections of the printed gargoyles to make a composition which was inspired by the centre of a church building.
